* Reduces Rusting
Powder metal parts are porous and in wet process finishing, water permeates the
surface, causing rust. Dry process finishing eliminates the use of water.
Other rust-prone parts also benefit from dry process finishing.
* Reduces Sticking of Thin Parts
Waterfs surface tension acts as an adhesive with thin parts, impairing finishing
results and efficient separation. The dry finishing process eliminates this problem.
* Reduces Deformation of Parts
The media used in wet process finishing is much heavier than that used for dry
finishing. The weight of wet media can cause deforming of the parts during the
finishing process. This problem is reduced with dry finishing.
* Reduces Surface Hardening of Parts
Similar to the problem of parts deformation, the surface of parts can be hardened
by the heavier media that must be used in the wet finishing process.
